Like the steel floor the wood floor was held down with bolts also, approxamatly 275. Again most just came right off with an air gun but the remainder where cut off with a cutoff wheel, dirty, tedious work I did save all the metal clips that hooked the steel floor braces for future cleaning, plating and reinstaling.

Some of the floor panels had retained there origanl floor paint well and samples where sent to the PRR Technical, Historical Society for prosperity.

The wood floor was covered with 3' x 10' sheets of 16ga. steel that had 1" holes in it. This perferated steel coverd the entire floor and was bolted down and and welded together and welded at the door openings. Of the 100 or so bolts that held it down, most came apart with an air gun. We then used a grider with a cutoff wheel and cut the stich welds holding each panel together.

In about a week all the steel, wood and bolts where removed to allow acess to make repair on the side panels and vertical braces.
