This
war-era car was built in July, 1942. Origanaly
built as a G29b with a wood floor and sides. During World War II,
wood was used to save steel for the war effort.
We purchased it at the Knox & Kane auction. We were lucky enough
to out-bid a scrapper. Otherwise, this car was destined to become
razor blades!
Check back often for updates on this project, along with updates
on our other projects.
Below
is a photo from the Bill Lane collection of what G29d's looked like,
which this car was rebuilt as in June, 1957. I plan on restoring
it by re-installing the diagonal braces and wood floor.
